GOOD DAY AT GOODWILL!

I'm still doing the happy dance!!!Happy Dance!
Happy dance!!

To my hearts delight...look what I found at Goodwill!!! Brown transfer ware! Not all pieces are in the most pristine condition, but do I care? Nooooooooooooo! I think most of us, love the things that have been really loved on in their past life. Am I right? I started my collection of red transfer ware a few years ago and from then on my love for dishes pretty much spiraled out of control. Not long after my red collection began, I started collecting blue. As of late, I have been patiently waiting for some lonely, brown trasfer ware to turn up in one of my local thrift stores and low and behold my patience paid off! My sick plan is to display the brown in the fall, the red in the winter and the blue in spring and summer.

When I'm finished doing my happy dance over these dishes, I plan on snuggling up with a cup of tea and this book I found for $1.99.

I also found this letter E for $1.

And this clock I thought would be perfect for the girls room!

Definitely a good day a Goodwill!
Have a great weekend!!

You definitely scored! The transferware is beautiful. I love brown transferware, too. I sure understand how a love of china and pottery can get out of control - mine sure has.

You did very well! It is so great when we find something we really love at a great price. I was at Goodwill on Sat and found an adorable cherub for $4. I thought I did good, but you get the award for "super saver good"! Enjoy your pretty new dishes.

I'd say that was a fantastic day at Goodwill! I love it when that happens! I switch out of transferware by the seasons. Brown in the winter, red in the summer mixed with white ironstone.

Oh you found some wonderful things for sure! I think that is such a fantastic idea to display the different colors of transferware for the different seasons! :) I also love the letter E you found, and that clock is darling! And that book~ what a great deal you got on it! :) I am very happy for you!

And about the moulding on the bottom of our kitchen cabinets...I THINK it is called "ply cap", but I'm not 100% positive of that. It worked around the window too, covering the open edges of the bead board around the window. You know what I can do~ I will show an up-close picture of it for you on a post when we get back from vacation. (If you don't find it first! :) Oh, and yes, I have done most all of the beadboard and moulding myself, but not the crown moulding! (You are definitely ahead of me on that one!) My husband has been teaching me as I need to know things, and I am thankful he can show me how to cut, which tools to use, etc.!
But if I never see another piece of bead board again...it will be TOO SOON! :) But did you know that you actually really inspired me to try and do some of this stuff myself when you tackled your dining room last year? :)

Well, I hope your week is off to a great start! :)

Blessings,
Jenni
