Yes, they are overflowing to the front porch here at the Candlelit Cottage!!
I picked up this old picture at Goodwill.
And you know the drill. I fetched my handy dandy can of chalk board spray paint.
Taped and covered up the frame and gave it a quick spray. Voila....A welcome greeting for my guests!
Of course I couldn't stop there.
Instead of tossing those old Christmas/Birthday cards I like to recycle them.
Give them a quick coat of chalkboard paint.
and you have an adorable way to label and organize what ever your heart desires!! I added this one to our "catch all basket." It sits just inside the back door and accumulates exactly what the tag reads!! Not exactly organized...but cute!!!

I do have a chalk board on my front porch where I post verses, welcomes, whatever on, and I also have a flower bench under neath it where I have pots of seasonal flowers . Chalkboards are actually very practical, aren't they?
Well, how clever are you! I'm gonna get myself some paint & copy those ideas........Thanx for the inspiration!
Did you go camping?

What a darling idea ... you are so creative. TTFN ~Marydon
Jen you are so creative. Love the idea of spray painting your old cards and making chalk boards out of em'. How cute!
GIRL! My "Met Monday" was a chalkboard too! I just love them. I only have three, but I have several things "brewing" (hehehe) They are just so versatile and fun. And I have used old pieces of cardboard to do the same labeling you have!
Birds of a feather!
Have a wonderful week! Loved this post!
Great ideas! I love both. I wish I was able to be that creative.
I love it! Very nice! I have some old frames lying around, I need to get some chalk board paint and do this!
The more I see these chalkboards on the blogs, the more I realize how I could live without just one. I'm going to have to make one. They would be great for leaving quick messages when you have to run for an errand or such.
Jen,
Love your projects! I wish I had seen the spray cans of chalkboard paint. I ended up getting a big old can of it, but will still try to use it up. Great pics!

Great idea!
I love that expression "too chalkboardy" - it's funny. I haven't had a chalkboard in my house since I was a child and I would play One Room schoolhouse with my sister (inspired by the one room schoolhouse on Little House on the Prairie.)
I love all your chalkboard creativity! I have an old framed picture that is jus SCREAMING paint me with chalkboard paint. So...I went to Lowe's this weekend and headed straight for the spray paint. I ONLY found chalkboard paint in a can (to stroke on with a paintbrush!)...I THOUGHT..."am I going crazy"!?!?? Didn't I see SPRAY chalk board paint in some blogs? Thanks for confirming that there IS SPRAY chalk board paint and I'm heading out track some down! I guess after all the cool posts about SPRAY chalk board paint...it sold out at my Lowe's...LOL!
Great idea for labeling a basket! I'll have to do this. -Jackie
Very cute!! I have never used chalkboard paint I think I'll try some soon.
SOOOOOO CUTE!!! I need to put one at my backdoor and I can change the greeting on it.
Chalkboard love! I have some chalkboard paint and still haven't opened it. Gotta get to it.
Love the little organazation signs too. Great idea and the gingham ribbon is really fun.
Oh and I know how to spell organization. oops.
Cute, cute, cute projects. I wouldn't have even thought of those. Great ideas. I need to look through some of my stuff and see what will make a nice chalkboard.

What a great idea of how to make those tags...clever!
I love your chalkboard! That is a beautiful white frame and I think a porch is a great place for a chalkboard! :) I also love how you made the little tag for the basket, too~ what a great idea!
I hope you are having a good week and that your camping trip was fun! :)
Howdy
Wow now that is a cool way to recycle old cards :)

Now, the tag idea? Soooo SWELL! I WILL be stealing that idea, for sure.
