CHALKBOARD OVERFLOW!

I heart chalkboards, but I feel like you can only have so many chalkboards in your house before it becomes...well....just to chalkboardy. Know what I mean?? My solution? The front porch!

Yes, they are overflowing to the front porch here at the Candlelit Cottage!!

I picked up this old picture at Goodwill.

And you know the drill. I fetched my handy dandy can of chalk board spray paint.

Taped and covered up the frame and gave it a quick spray. Voila....A welcome greeting for my guests!

Of course I couldn't stop there.

Instead of tossing those old Christmas/Birthday cards I like to recycle them.

Give them a quick coat of chalkboard paint.

Trim to size.

Add some cute ribbon.

and you have an adorable way to label and organize what ever your heart desires!! I added this one to our "catch all basket." It sits just inside the back door and accumulates exactly what the tag reads!! Not exactly organized...but cute!!!

I do have a chalk board on my front porch where I post verses, welcomes, whatever on, and I also have a flower bench under neath it where I have pots of seasonal flowers . Chalkboards are actually very practical, aren't they?

GIRL! My "Met Monday" was a chalkboard too! I just love them. I only have three, but I have several things "brewing" (hehehe) They are just so versatile and fun. And I have used old pieces of cardboard to do the same labeling you have!
Birds of a feather!
Have a wonderful week! Loved this post!

The more I see these chalkboards on the blogs, the more I realize how I could live without just one. I'm going to have to make one. They would be great for leaving quick messages when you have to run for an errand or such.

Jen,
Love your projects! I wish I had seen the spray cans of chalkboard paint. I ended up getting a big old can of it, but will still try to use it up. Great pics!

I love that expression "too chalkboardy" - it's funny. I haven't had a chalkboard in my house since I was a child and I would play One Room schoolhouse with my sister (inspired by the one room schoolhouse on Little House on the Prairie.)

I love all your chalkboard creativity! I have an old framed picture that is jus SCREAMING paint me with chalkboard paint. So...I went to Lowe's this weekend and headed straight for the spray paint. I ONLY found chalkboard paint in a can (to stroke on with a paintbrush!)...I THOUGHT..."am I going crazy"!?!?? Didn't I see SPRAY chalk board paint in some blogs? Thanks for confirming that there IS SPRAY chalk board paint and I'm heading out track some down! I guess after all the cool posts about SPRAY chalk board paint...it sold out at my Lowe's...LOL!
