OFF WITH THEM!!

The verdict is in and the doors came off and will be staying off.

Still much more painting to be done and I'm not sure what I will line the back of the cabinet with.

I'll keep some of my thrifted cook books up here! Keeps them out of the way as I need all the counter space I can get in this little kitchen!

Happy Thursday!!

I think this looks great! I have seen where people do that with all the cupboards, but I think the way you did it is great. I wouldn't want to have to keep all my dishes perfect, its hard enough to keep the kitchen clean. But a little bit is just right. Your house has such a peaceful relaxed feel, I have enjoyed reading and seeing your house and garden. I love how your family grows food, we do that on a smaller scale but would like to do more. It inspired me reading this last summer. Its great how you don't overkill your decorating. I have been to blogs where every room has a million little things in it, but I'm drawn to the simpler look. Your colors are right on too. Sorry, long post, I haven't left a comment before. Have a great day.

For some reason, 50 yrs ago when this house was built, they just left the space over the fridge blank..and since we have lived here ONLY 35 years, you would think that there would be a nice cabinet there now....well, there isn't !! NOW, however, I am trying to think what I would like there...don't really need a cabinet with doors...hmmmm...see, now ya got me to thinkin...and that's dangerous!!
This looks great....and I like your EAT on the wall. I have an EAT CAKE above my stove....

I like the look of the open cabinet Jen. I think it fits right it.

I love the idea of keeping them open. And without stepping on any toes, what I would do is get a decorative paper to line the inside, keeping in mind the changing seasons. That way, you have the perfect showcase for some really great decorations!

Hey I might have to try that. The space above my frig is empty (who can ever get up there) and that's an excellent idea. I can see it now. Thanks!!

Your cabinets with the doors off look great. My cabinets are so messy--that would not work for me.

Hi Jen,
I really love the cabinet with the doors off! It looks great how you decorated it all up on top of your fridge and in your cabinet! Love it! :)

I hope your weekend is a great one! :)

Hi Jen,
Just came across your blog, and do you want to know what caught my attention? Your blue kitchen walls. I don't think I've ever seen a blue kitchen... I love it.
Looks good :-) Have a wonderful day.

Smiles,
♥Ana
